Pond Services cumbria begun over 35 years ago, because like most people things start as a hobby and wanting a small pond and then progress onwards from there.
I decided one day to build a pond in my garden, unfortunatly i do not do things by half and the size was 18' long x 12' wide and 7' deep, everyone thought it was a swimming pool, so not small pond by any means.

Once I had designed and built it, I then wanted to stock it with some coldwater fish with lots of different colours and then came accross Koi Carp and fell in love with them, but trying to find out the correct information on how to keep them etc, did proove to be very difficult....as one book told a different story to the other...... so who do you follow?

So having this problem of finding the correct information, made me think, others must be having the same problems. So it prompted me to find it out and start offering a service to others that were wanting to start with there own pond etc, so that was where it all begun....

We built a purpose built aquatic centre which housed 5 large indoor ponds and 12 smaller ponds and were called Country Koi.
We then added the addition of a fish hospital to help fix problemed fish, and were the first ever aquatic centre in Cumbria to be filmed by Border Television operating on a large Koi carp which had a bad bacterial disease,which went on to make a full recovery, but unfortunatly left a small white scare.

Then we moved out of the aquatic side and concentrated on our core business which was designing/constructing ponds, filtration systems and consultancy/advice for customers for all water gardening projects both small and large.

We are still very active in the water gardening industry and over the past 35 years we have built up an excellent reputation by offering first class advice and service to the water gardener and other businesses, and by this it has made us the business we are today, with happy to help staff and solving customers problems, it is peace of mind for you knowing there is someone at the end of a phone or we can come out and iron out any problems you may be experiencing.

We understand the problems with designing and building a new pond and also understanding how it all works, and why you need the correct products to do the job.
